Dental hygiene is of the hottest jobs in the nation, ranking fifth on the U.S. Department of Labor's list of fastest growing occupations. To keep up with demand, the industry should add 30 percent more dental hygienists in the next eight years—and having a degree is likely to help you a secure job in the field. Dental Hygiene Training
Dental hygienists typically work closely with patients, teaching them good oral hygiene and providing preventative care, as well as examining their teeth and gums. An online dental hygienist degree traditionally includes laboratory, clinical, and classroom instruction and can qualify graduates for licensure. Courses may cover anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiography, periodontology, and of course, dental hygiene.
