Job Summary:
Network Administrators, also known as LAN administrator, information systems engineer, system and security consultant, ensure that the computing systems of an organization function smoothly and efficiently. They look after computer hardware (equipment), software (programs), computer networks (communication links between computers) and operating systems (programs that run computers).

Qualification:
To be a network administrator, you have to be able to set up operating systems and computer networks and ensure operating systems and computer networks run smoothly. Some employers will employ candidates who may have no paper qualification on the condition they can demonstrate familiarity with the company's operating system, and have the ability to meet the company's information systems needs.

Salary Range:
Fresh Graduates can make an average monthly income of 1,500.00 - 2,500.00. With more than 5 years experience the monthly average income is around 3,000.00 - 5,000.00 where more than 10 years experience can get a monthly average of 5,000.00 - 5,500.00.

Prospects:
Network Administrators start with small projects and are supervised by experienced managers. As they gain experience, they may be put in charge of increasingly larger and more complex projects. Those who have good people skills may advance to supervisory positions. For some management positions, a bachelor's or master's degree in business administration may be required.
