Hotel Management

Job Summary:
Hotel Management degree holders perform duties as hotel managers. They have to coordinate and implement food and beverage services, manage guests, maintain the hotel, recruit and handle staff and be involved in marketing and publicizing strategies. They are in charge of administration duties, looking after health standards, safety of guests. They have to plan and supervise furnishing arrangement, manage security etc. Hotel managers work mostly in the evenings and are in fact the face of the management and the hotel.

Should be friendly and communicative. Should be professional at all times. Should be able to take on responsibilities and be confident and relaxed in tense situations. Should be a team player.

Qualification:
A degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality from a reputed institution. Hands on experience in dealing with people.

Salary Range:
Ranges from $30,000 to $100,000 per annum on an average.

Prospects:
The prospects for hotel managers are huge. With the increase in the number of tourists and holiday seekers the demand for good hotels has risen. So the need for hotel managers is on the rise. Globalization has also played a part, as more and more people are willing to spend and go on tourist vacations. Hotel management degree holders also find jobs in the service industry. Working part time is also an option.
