Environmental engineers design wastewater treatment plants. They have to manage the natural resources.

Environmental engineers have to look into the worldwide effects of pollution. Environmental engineers in oilrigs work to minimize pollution due to oil spills. They have to work closely with regulatory authorities and see to it that all regulations and norms are followed. In today?s world Environmental engineers are of paramount importance due to global warming, nuclear pollution, effluents etc. Some Environmental engineers specialize in a particular industry like minerals and work to decrease pollution in the environment.
